Quartz Clear Tube
Types of Quartz Tubes Quartz tubes can be roughly divided into the following types: transparent quartz tubes (outer diameter 15mm~300mm), UV-filtering quartz tubes, colored quartz tubes, etc. Selection of Quartz Tubes Quartz tubes are used in closed-t diffusion because they can withstand temperatures of around 1250°C, and at temperatures above 1800°C, they become very soft and sticky allowing them to be shaped as needed.
Additionally, since quartz tubes are made from high-purity raw materials with very few harmful impurities, they ensure quality in such as diffusion and alloy preparation, making quartz tubes a common choice for closed-tube diffusion. Preparation of Quartz Tubes: The inner diameter and wall thickness of quartz tube are selected based on the diameter of the silicon wafer used in the diffusion process.
Chemical Properties 1. High Temperature Resistance The softening of quartz glass is around 1730°C. It can be used for long periods at temperatures up to 1100°C, and for periods at temperatures up to 1450°C. 2. Corrosion Resistance Except for hydrofluoric acid, quartz glass does not react chem with other acids. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. Its chemical stability at high temperatures unmatched by any other engineering material.
